Federal Firefighter, Department of the Navy, NSGA, Winter Harbor, ME 1999-2002

• Supervised and performed work to control and extinguish fires, rescue persons endangered by fire,   and reduce or eliminate potential fire hazards

• Developed and implemented fire protection and prevention plans, procedures and standards. Advised   on improvements to structures for improved fire prevention

• Responded to and controlled site-specific hazardous materials incidents

• Trained and educated personnel in fire protection and prevention, and worked extensively with the   education officer in developing and implementing a community and School Union 92 based “Learn  Not to Burn” program

• Worked in cooperation with the Acadia National Park Service in search and rescue operations. 

• Effective operation, maintenance and repair of all fire detection systems, as well as operation of all fire   suppression equipment at N.S.G.A Winter Harbor

• Responsible for wildland fire prevention, suppression at Dept. of Navy installations under N.S.G.A.
